A bold new creative movement is taking shape in Hoddesdon—and it’s being led by none other than local Kev Orkian.
Bringing Hollywood to Hertfordshire
Best known as a stand-up comedian, concert pianist, documentary filmmaker, Britain’s Got Talent star, entrepreneur, and founder of British Pantomimes, Kev is now on a mission: to bring the magic and creative energy of Hollywood straight to the heart of Hertfordshire Hoddesdon.
Just 18 months ago, Kev and his team transformed Hertfordshire Studios into a vibrant creative hub—home to well-known entertainment brands including Jongleurs Comedy Club, Comedy Bunker, British Pantomimes, and Howlin Entertainment. Since launching in 2024, the studio has quickly become a cornerstone of the local arts scene, hosting touring productions, live events, and—most importantly—giving back to the community with free live concerts every Friday at 1pm.
A Community Hub for Creatives
But this is more than just a studio—it’s a community.
From the much-loved Stitch & Bitch Club on Tuesday mornings to lively Community Bingo hosted by Kerys Lea in the afternoon, the space is buzzing with activity. Creative minds come together every other Thursday for the ever-popular Paint & Prosecco Club, while comedy lovers flock in on the last Friday of each month for a night of laughter at Jongleurs Comedy Club.
Expanding the Vision
And now, the vision is growing even bigger.
Kev and his team have recently acquired the legendary Admiral Costumes, boasting an extraordinary collection of over 70,000 costumes spanning TV, film, theatre, schools, and private events. This incredible archive is being reimagined at its brand-new home—Studio Space (formerly Nonna’s Kitchen, Unit 6).
What to Expect at Studio Space
This exciting new venue will feature:
A state-of-the-art TV & Film studio
A fully equipped Podcast Studio
Modern meeting rooms
A unique Costume Museum with a coffee bar
A large, flexible studio space available for hire
In short—Hoddesdon is becoming Hoddywood.
Opportunities for All
This ambitious project is opening doors for students, performers, and creatives across the region—sparking new opportunities, collaborations, and productions. Plans are already underway to partner with CRE8 to deliver extracurricular activities and inspire the next generation of talent.
Join Us for the Open Day
And the best part? You’re invited.
The official Open Day for Studio Space will take place during the Love Hoddesdon Mid Summer Fest, giving the public a chance to step inside, explore the facilities, and experience first-hand what’s on offer.
Setting the Standard for New Creatives
Hertfordshire Studios is not just a venue; it's a launchpad for creativity and collaboration. Whether you're a filmmaker, podcaster, event organizer, or performer, this is the place to be. The energy is infectious, and the opportunities are endless.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to be part of something special. Together, we can elevate the local arts scene and create unforgettable experiences.
